It's a Mom thing, You may understand...

You may understand if you have ever had a boy turning to a man. This week I have seen my son, whom I had when I was 18 to begin the change from boy to man.

I was not a saved person when I had my son. I will admit that.We both had to do a lot of growing up together.  And for that reason we have had some real struggles, that have been trying for us both. Over the years since I have been saved it has been a battle for me to get " the things of this world" out of him, that I placed in him at an early age.We have replaced  them with" the things of God" over the years.   I must say that this week I have seen the fruits of our labor showing signs that it is ripe.

My son is  turning into a man. A man that would make a Mamma proud for that matter. This week especially we are noticing the change. In one week, my son has taken on some hefty farm chores, that he has been doing quite well and without reminder. He has been learning his guitar and doing so well. Monday he flew in a plane over our home, to wave to his Mamma. He was volunteering at the local airport , restoring a DC3, and recieved a free" flying lesson. He is also providing our family with food for this weekend, as he hunts on our farm. This is all very important but the thing that would make a  Mamma proudest, would be his stand he took for the Lord this week. He was confronted with a situation where he had to make a choice in which he would do something against which he believed was "not of God". He had to confront a sinning Adult Christian, and peer. We let him make his own choice, and he choose the Lord instead of peer presure. Praise the Lord we are seeing the Lord work in his life, and it is helping us loosen the reins on him a little.

As I watch my little boy grow into my little man, ( he is taller than I am now) I am over joyed that he is choosing the path that he is choosing, and It brings tears to my eyes just thinking about who he is becomming. I love the Lord, and as he walks this path I pray he grows to love him as much as I do.   mmc
